Management tips in Cricket

My nephew Abhinav Mukund scored a century on his debut in Ranji trophy Cricket. He is only the 7th player in Tamil Nadu history to do so. He is 17 years old and is good India prospect. He has a long way to go I wish him good luck to reach the top. I am very happy and proud to be part of his success as he is one guy from the family to reach such heights.

Few months ago he was selected to play for India Under-19 that toured Sri Lanka. He scored a double century there. I had a long chat with him before he travelled on this tour. Here are my few cents of advice to him.

1. Set your goals to become the top 5 batsman in the world ranking.
2. Keep a note of all your tours - Plan before the tour, before match, write daily notes.
3. Be on the good books of team mates, coaches & managers. If you become the captain next tour they will support you.
4. Send a thank you card to coach, manager & fellow mates after the tour.
5. Develop a good second line of interest other than playing Cricket (rest days or rainy days)
6. Think of what motivates you to come back when you fail
7. Take it easy enjoy life & have fun
