Budgeting & Business Plan

This is the time of the year most executives in companies will be submitting and reviewing the budgets, projections & targets for the next year. This process is not an academic task of increasing the budget or sales numbers by a percentage. It has to be clearly thought out by executives for them to be successful. Every number should have a what, why, who, how attached to it. I would suggest that this exercise will have to be done like the way one would write a business plan. Imagine that you are taking your plan to a VC for funding. If you put in that kind of an effort you would have considered all aspects in your budgeting cycle. I am also thinking that these executives should be trained by a VC for them to create a good budget/sales plan for the next year.
